Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Long Term Care

About the role

RhynoCare is looking for an experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide care in long‑term care facilities in Orillia, Ontario. You will be engaged as an independent contractor, delivering high‑quality, compassionate support to residents.

Key responsibilities

• Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional or cognitive status to the primary nurse.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, feeding) while promoting dignity and independence.
• Perform safe transfers, positioning and mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time in accordance with corporate policies.
• Participate in risk‑management, quality‑improvement, mentoring, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age with proficient verbal and written English communication.
• Successful completion of a Ministry‑approved PSW training program (minimum 640 hours) or RN/RPN student with Year 1 completed.
• Experience working as a facility PSW is considered an asset.
• Ability to speak a second language is an asset.
