Registered Practical Nurse – Medicine (Temporary Part‑Time)

About the role

One temporary part‑time Registered Practical Nurse position on the Medicine unit at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. The role supports patient care in a multidisciplinary environment and is unionized with UNIFOR Local 1106.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical patients.
• Administer medications, including IV therapy.
• Perform physical assessments and document care accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in shift handovers and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Ability to complete an updated IV course and IV medication administration within three months of hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable attendance and satisfactory performance record.
• Successful reference, police vulnerable sector check, and pre‑employment health assessment.
