Registered Nurse – Wound, Ostomy & Continence (NSWOC)

About the role

Join a supportive community nursing team as a Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC). You will deliver evidence‑based assessment, management and education for wound, ostomy and continence care across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for wound, ostomy and continence needs, including assessments and treatment plans.
• Educate ParaMed nursing staff, patients and families on best‑practice care.
• Offer clinical consultation (in‑person or remote) and recommend specialty products.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Precept new ParaMed nurses as required.
• Adhere to evidence‑based protocols, ParaMed policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with specialization in wound, ostomy and continence (NSWOC).
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in community or wound/ostomy/continence care.
• Current membership/registration with Nurses Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence Canada (preferred).
• International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC) or SWAN certification may be considered.

Required skills

• Advanced wound, ostomy and continence assessment and management.
• Ability to provide education and clinical consultation to nursing teams.
• Familiarity with evidence‑based clinical guidelines and documentation.
