Registered Nurse – Virtual Care (Remote)

About the role

Fonemed is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join its virtual care team supporting the 811 HealthLine and Mental Health Crisis Line for Newfoundland and Labrador. This remote, work‑from‑home position involves telephone triage, clinical advice, and mental‑health crisis support for callers across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Provide telephone triage and clinical advice using Schmitt‑Thompson protocols.
• Deliver mental‑health, addictions, and crisis‑intervention support, including suicide risk assessment.
• Exercise clinical judgment to determine appropriate disposition and level of care.
• Document confidential medical records accurately and promptly.
• Maintain clear communication and direction during each patient encounter.

Required profile

• Graduated from a recognized School of Nursing.
• Minimum two years recent triage or clinical experience (ER, ICU, mental health, etc.).
• Active RN licensure with the CRNNL or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Private, closed‑door workspace with reliable high‑speed internet.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑based computer systems.
• Experience using telephone and related software systems.
