Registered Nurse – Telehealth Cardiology (Heart Institute)

About the role

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse with Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) expertise to provide telehealth services for cardiac patients at the Heart Institute. This temporary, fixed‑term role runs until approximately January 4, 2027 and involves 8‑hour day shifts supporting patients across Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec and Eastern Nunavut.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver remote cardiac care and education through telemedicine platforms.
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with recent cardiology or cardiac surgery experience.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized self‑care plans.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and update databases.
• Provide patient teaching on chronic disease management and self‑care techniques.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• At least one year of recent experience in cardiology, cardiac surgery, and cardiac telehealth.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.
• Advanced oral and written proficiency in English and French (Level 4).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Excellent computer skills.
• Experience with clinical databases.
