Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Part‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Suite on a regular part‑time basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care across the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Recovery areas at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Suite, Day Surgery, and Post‑Anaesthetic Care Unit.
• Assist with patient preparation, intra‑operative monitoring, and post‑operative recovery.
• Maintain strict adherence to nursing standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario and hospital policies.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond promptly to standby calls.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures.

Required profile

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• 1‑3 years of operating‑room nursing experience.
• Post‑Graduate Perioperative Nursing course.
• Membership in RNAO or CNA is an asset.
• Willingness to work in all areas of the Surgical Suite on a rotating basis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• BCLS certification.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Post‑Anesthetic Care Nursing certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Strong organizational and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to assume leadership or charge nurse responsibilities.
