Registered Nurse – 1A Surgery

About the role

The Registered Nurse will join the 1A Surgery unit at Credit Valley Hospital, providing safe, high‑quality care to a diverse surgical population. This permanent, full‑time position works on a rotating 12‑hour schedule covering days, nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver peri‑operative nursing care to patients undergoing general, orthopedic, urologic, vascular, plastic, maxillofacial and oncology surgeries.
• Monitor post‑operative patients in the 6‑bed surgical observation unit, ensuring timely assessment and intervention.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement evidence‑based care plans.
• Document patient care accurately in the hospital’s electronic system.
• Participate in ongoing education and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate of a recognized nursing program; Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Current registration or eligibility for certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum two years recent surgical nursing experience.
• Physical assessment training preferred.
• Availability for all shift patterns (days, nights, weekends) and reliable attendance.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
