Registered Fire Protection Technician (Full-Time)

About the role

Community Fire Prevention Ltd, a division of Onyx‑Fire, is seeking full‑time Registered Fire Protection Technicians to lead inspections, maintenance, repairs and service calls on fire and life‑safety equipment. The role reports to a Pod Leader, the Board and the Operations Manager and includes mentoring junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual and annual fire inspections in accordance with the 2018 BC Fire Code and applicable CAN/ULC, NFPA and CSA standards.
• Repair, troubleshoot and service fire and life‑safety equipment, completing electronic inspection and deficiency reports promptly.
• Participate in an after‑hours emergency on‑call rotation and maintain clear communication with internal and external contacts.
• Mentor junior fire protection technicians and stay current with industry standards, product changes and best practices.

Required profile

• ASTTBC RFPT or CFAA certified technician with a valid BC driver’s licence.
• Strong electrical, electronics and mechanical background, able to assess and troubleshoot life‑safety systems.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and a positive, customer‑focused attitude.
