Rail and Transit Systems Engineering Manager

About the role

Parsons is redefining how people move through cities and communities. As a Rail & Transit Systems Engineering Manager you will lead the delivery of advanced transit command, control, and communications systems for major projects in Western Canada. The position is based out of the Burnaby office and focuses on system‑level engineering across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage Systems Engineering teams on one or more major rail and transit projects.
• Drive system‑level engineering activities throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle, from architecture to verification and validation.
• Support design, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of advanced transit systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary domains such as communications, signaling, train control, traction power, trackwork, and fixed facilities.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, code consultants, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and major suppliers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering systems engineering outcomes.
• Strong background in communications systems and train control system design or integration for transit facilities.
• Experience developing technical requirements and specifications, using tools like DOORS or similar platforms.
• Ability to operate effectively in complex, multidisciplinary project environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) with typically 15+ years of experience; P.Eng designation in British Columbia may be required.
