Quality Control Inspector (CWB Level II)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team on a short‑term contract starting June 15, 2026 in Edmonton. The role involves directing and performing day‑to‑day welding inspection activities across multiple scopes, with the possibility of extending to a recurring or long‑term position based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of pipe runs, fittings, and welds.
• Witness pressure testing, welding activities, and hot tapping operations.
• Conduct dimensional checks against approved drawings.
• Ensure only qualified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) are used and review Material Test Reports and mill certificates.
• Manage Inspection Test Plans, signatures, and hold points.
• Request, review, and verify NDE testing and technician certifications.
• Schedule daily quality activities and coordinate with trades and subcontractors.
• Prepare, compile, and audit project turnover packages, including weld mapping, NDE requests, and as‑built documents.
• Participate in Job Hazard Assessments and adhere to all safety requirements.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in a dedicated QC/Welding Inspection role.
• CWB Level II Inspector certification (required).
• Strong technical knowledge of metallurgy, welding standards, and NDE for in‑service welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
