Quality Assurance Composite Assembly Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Composite Assembly Inspector to join our team in Fort Erie. The role focuses on ensuring that composite components meet stringent aerospace standards through thorough inspection and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform assembly, paint, trim, lay‑up, core and shipping inspections according to defined MIDs, drawings and inspection plans.
• Verify potting material shelf life, tool validity, material identification and proper orientation of ply numbers.
• Record non‑conformities, apply red tags, and quarantine defective parts.
• Create and maintain inspection plans, procedures and shipping documentation (Form Ones, C of Cs).
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action activities using Rapid 5 Whys and 8D tools.
• Conduct First Article Inspections in compliance with AS9102 requirements.
• Guide assembly and lay‑up technicians on acceptance criteria and inspection requirements.
• Achieve weekly and daily KPI targets for each inspection discipline.

Required profile

• Experience in quality assurance or inspection of composite aerospace assemblies.
• Familiarity with AS9102 first‑article inspection standards.
• Proven ability to perform root‑cause analysis using Rapid 5 Whys and 8D methodologies.
• Attention to detail for visual inspection of surface defects, dust inclusions, orange peel, tears, sagging, blistering and tool wear.
