Facilities Maintenance Labourer – Temporary

About the role

We are seeking a temporary Facilities Maintenance Labourer to support the upkeep of our plant in Fort Erie. The role involves interior and exterior building maintenance, assisting contractors, and providing general support to various departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the facility and property, including interior and exterior repairs.
• Monitor plant systems and replace or fix components as needed.
• Fabricate and weld items to aid plant operations.
• Adjust heating and cooling systems when necessary.
• Provide plumbing support and assist contractors with maintenance tasks.
• Close preventative maintenance tickets on a monthly basis.
• Perform safety‑related repairs and act as a member of the Spill Response Team.
• Assist AHCA employees with tasks such as emptying rinse tanks and handling parcels.
• Operate forklift or overhead crane to support contractor work.
• Perform snow removal, salt application, and general grounds maintenance.
• Maintain landscaping, including mowing, tree trimming, and gardening.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Ability to read blueprints or equipment schematics is a plus.
• Proficiency with computer tools and intermediate knowledge of Google Suite.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
