QA Analyst – Cybersecurity & IT Resiliency

About the role

MatchBox is seeking a QA Analyst with a focus on cybersecurity and IT resiliency for a six‑month contract with a public‑sector client in New Westminster. The position is hybrid, requiring the candidate to be based in the Lower Mainland.

Key responsibilities

• Execute functional and non‑functional testing of cybersecurity applications, including SaaS and on‑premise solutions.
• Perform API testing of RESTful APIs and SOAP web services to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Conduct data validation using SQL queries against back‑end systems and databases.
• Review project documentation, business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Collaborate with vendors, product owners, cybersecurity teams, and other stakeholders to develop QA strategies and test plans.
• Design, develop and execute test plans, test cases, test scenarios and automated test scripts for SIT, functional, regression, performance and UAT.
• Identify project risks, prepare test data, configure test environments, and coordinate UAT activities.
• Maintain defect and issue logs, track defects through triage, resolution and closure.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quality assurance testing for large, complex IT projects, including enterprise COTS, on‑premise and SaaS applications.
• Experience supporting infrastructure and cybersecurity‑related projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to work closely with technical teams, vendors and stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
• Must be located in the Lower Mainland and able to work on‑site as required.
