Python Developer

About the role

Apexon is seeking a Python Developer to design, build and maintain scalable backend services for mission‑critical financial platforms. You will work within a collaborative, engineering‑driven environment, partnering with frontend, DevOps and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and backend integrations.
• Contribute to platform engineering initiatives, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Lead and participate in system design discussions for distributed systems.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Optimize performance, security, and observability of backend services.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a Canadian university or college.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in financial services or fintech environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming for backend development.
• API design and development (REST, JSON, OpenAPI).
• System design for scalability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Database expertise (SQL and NoSQL).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Microservices architecture.
• Security, compliance, and high‑availability considerations.
