Programmer Analyst I – Application Development

About the role

The Programmer Analyst I joins UBC's Application Development team to design, code, test, debug, document and maintain software modules that support facilities and records management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop web application modules and support Electronic Document Management Systems such as Laserfiche.
• Create e‑forms, workflows, and business process maps for records and information management.
• Maintain departmental software for paper and electronic records, recommending process improvements.
• Document programming requirements, business rules, and prepare functional, system and program specifications.
• Design test cases, conduct functional testing, and validate results during user and system acceptance testing.
• Assist in drafting policies, procedures, and new e‑forms related to electronic document management.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with UBC Facilities, IT, and academic units.
• Attention to detail in documentation and testing activities.
