Program Assistant – OSVRSE Events & Workshops

About the role

The Office for Sexual Violence Response, Support and Education (OSVRSE) at McGill University seeks a part‑time Program Assistant to help coordinate workshops and events that raise awareness and prevent sexual and gender‑based violence on campus. The role blends in‑person and remote work and offers a valuable learning experience for a returning undergraduate or graduate student.

Key responsibilities

• Master OSVRSE’s core workshops (e.g., How to Respond to Disclosures, Becoming an Active Bystander).
• Assist the Sexual Violence Education Advisor in designing and delivering workshops, panels, webinars and related resources.
• Coordinate one‑time events and outreach activities such as tabling sessions.
• Communicate with university partners, speakers and participants.
• Collect and summarise data from interviews and surveys for planning and evaluation.
• Lead and support a team of 5‑10 volunteers, including training and professional development.
• Contribute to OSVRSE communications and prepare project reports with recommendations.

Required profile

• Returning undergraduate or graduate student eligible for McGill’s Work‑Study Program.
• Own laptop or device with social‑media access.
• Strong initiative, leadership, oral, written and visual communication abilities.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and information‑literacy skills.
• Proficiency with Office 365.
