About the role
The School of Social Work at McGill University is hiring a unionized course lecturer to teach SWRK 319 – Critical Thought and Ethics. The intensive two‑week online course is delivered in partnership with the Cree School Board during Fall 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver the SWRK 319 curriculum online on the scheduled dates (October 5‑9 and October 19‑23, 2026) and manage the one‑week pause between sessions.
- Coordinate with the Cree School Board to ensure culturally appropriate delivery and student engagement.
Required profile
- MSW degree (or equivalent) with expert knowledge of ethics, social work theories, research, and Canadian/Québec legal frameworks.
- Minimum five years of professional social work practice and demonstrated experience in teaching or research related to ethical decision‑making.
Required skills
- Apply codes of ethics, social work and ethical theories, and legal frameworks to real‑world practice situations.
- Critically engage in ethical decision‑making, drawing on research, empirical studies, and reflexivity regarding personal social location.
