Production Team Leader

About the role

The Glucose Team Leader at Jungbunzlauer Canada Inc. oversees the safe and efficient operation of the glucose plant, leading a team of Production Technicians to meet budgeted production targets while minimizing waste. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role is a key member of the plant’s Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Safety and Quality Assurance programs and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
• Maintain product quality and food‑safety standards, meeting or exceeding all requirements.
• Oversee training, performance, and development of Production Technicians.
• Drive achievement of budgeted production volumes and manage process control for wet milling, co‑product processing, enzymatic glucose refining, and royal production.
• Implement Kaizen and other continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance safety, operating results, and sustainability.
• Keep the department audit‑ready, including housekeeping, Kaizen, and FSSC compliance.
• Communicate effectively across the Glucose Management Team and with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in chemical or mechanical engineering technology, stationary engineering, chemistry, or related plant‑operations field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in food or chemical manufacturing.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong decision‑making skills and ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 23 kg, and work safely on stairs, ladders, or in confined spaces.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using SAP.
• Familiarity with DCS or similar process‑control equipment.
