Production Positions

About the role

Odyssey, Ottawa’s leading mask and movement theatre company, is hiring for several production‑related positions for its 2023 summer season. Roles include Box Office and Public Relations Officer, Theatre Technician, Production Assistant and seasonal Stage Manager contracts. All positions are based at the Arts Court location (2 Daly Avenue) and involve direct interaction with audiences, artists and technical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Box Office & PR Officer: manage ticket reservations and sales, provide customer service, process payments, produce daily reports, support community outreach and silent‑auction activities, maintain donor databases and update online event listings.
• Theatre Technician: assist the Technical Director and Stage Manager with set‑up and strike, operate lighting and/or sound boards during performances, maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure safety protocols.
• Production Assistant: support the Stage Manager during rehearsals, help the Production Manager with technical needs, oversee backstage operations and supervise Youth Apprentices during the run.
• Seasonal Stage Manager: lead script workshops, readings and the Theatre Under the Stars summer production, coordinating rehearsals and performances.

Required profile

• Box Office & PR Officer: up to 30 years old, strong customer‑service orientation, comfortable handling cash and ticketing systems.
• Theatre Technician: valid driver’s licence, ability to work at heights, first‑aid training is an asset.
• Production Assistant: passion for the arts, reliable, able to work long summer hours.
• Stage Manager: experience in theatre production, flexible schedule.
