Production Clerk

About the role

The Production Clerk supports MDA’s space hardware manufacturing by performing a variety of hands‑on technical tasks that ensure components are received, prepared, and packaged correctly for flight. Working on the production floor, the clerk assists skilled technicians and helps maintain traceability throughout the build process.

Key responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments, open boxes, count items and update the production database.
• Assist with sandblasting, component preparation and organization of production cells.
• Build and apply appropriate packaging for ground and flight hardware.
• Cut panels, honeycomb structures and install thermal blankets.
• Assemble and pack parts, install helicoils, legs or grounding blankets.
• Prepare and clean parts, including plating and tinning, and mix required chemicals.
• Validate torque values after assembly steps and wrap base cables into helical coils.
• Operate transport equipment such as trolleys, cranes and lifts.
• Support research and development personnel and perform any other related tasks.

Required profile

• DEC, DES or equivalent education.
• 1‑2 years of relevant production experience.
• Ability to read engineering plans and understand geometric tolerances.
• Basic French proficiency.
• Fine manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools.
• Capability to enter data into production databases using menu‑driven interfaces.
• Basic knowledge of English is an asset.
• Eligibility for a reliability‑status security clearance and Controlled Goods Program assessment.
