Product Design Engineer

About the role

The Product Design Engineer will turn office‑furniture concepts into manufacturable products, guiding projects from initial idea through to production launch. Working closely with Product Management, Industrial Design and manufacturing teams, you will ensure each product meets design intent, cost targets, quality standards and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative engineering solutions for seating, desking, storage and related furniture categories.
• Create and refine 3D CAD models and detailed SolidWorks drawings, following internal standards.
• Prepare complete engineering documentation, including BOMs, drawings, specifications and tolerance stacks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues related to function, cost, manufacturability and testing.
• Support prototype building, R&D testing and compliance verification (BIFMA, CGSB, UL/CSA).
• Provide technical data and guidance for pilot runs and full‑scale production.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with strong 3D CAD expertise.
• Experience in product development for office‑furniture or similar industrial products.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as BIFMA, CGSB and UL/CSA.
• Ability to work in a concurrent, cross‑functional environment.
