Product Control Manager – Global Equity

About the role

Scotiabank is seeking a Product Control Manager to join its Global Equity business. The role is part of the Product Control team and focuses on P&L and accounting support for multiple books and strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and report daily P&L, ensuring integrity through risk‑based attribution.
• Reconcile daily P&L to Front Office expectations and obtain Front Office sign‑off.
• Coordinate and resolve P&L breaks with Front Office, Product Control, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure daily P&L is reconciled to the bank’s General Ledger and sub‑ledgers.
• Substantiate balance‑sheet accounts and resolve accounting issues promptly.
• Lead month‑end close sign‑off and prepare MIS packages.
• Develop and implement processes for valuation, IPV, reserves, and fair‑value adjustments in line with risk management and bank guidelines.
• Support financial reporting needs and assist senior managers in onboarding new products or businesses.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of valuation and risk analytics for equity and derivative products.
• Understanding of accounting treatments for financial instruments.
• Business degree in Accounting or Finance; CFA or CPA progress is an asset.
