Legal Entity Controller Analyst

About the role

As part of the Finance team, the Legal Entity Controller Analyst helps shape Barclays' financial strategy through accounting, budgeting, financial forecasting and analysis. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of legal entity financial reporting across the organisation, covering statutory financial statements, regulatory filings, management reporting and tax compliance. It sits in the Finance area of expertise and is a permanent position in Toronto.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present accurate, timely financial statements and other accounting records in line with accounting standards and regulations
• Support identification, assessment and mitigation of financial risks and report them to senior colleagues
• Maintain a robust system of internal controls and implement up-to-date financial policies and procedures
• Manage financial systems and software, working with IT to integrate them with other enterprise systems
• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports to authorities and support other departments in their regulatory reporting
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities on audits and examinations
• Manage capital and liquidity reporting and support key financial decisions

Required profile

• Qualified CPA or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• Experience with financial controls, regulatory reporting and/or auditing in banking and financial services
• Self-starter who can multi-task with competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management, able to influence and assert ideas

Required skills

• Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Valued: regulatory returns to CIRO, OSFI and tax filings to CRA (T2, GST/HST)
• May be assessed on risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology skills

The salary range is 85,000 to 135,000 CAD; the position is eligible for an incentive award.
