Procurement Director

About the role

The partner company is seeking a Procurement Director to lead procurement transformation across a large, complex organization in Canada. This executive‑level position will shape strategic sourcing, drive cost efficiency, and elevate supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional procurement strategies for technology, professional services, logistics, facilities, travel, equipment, and operational supplies.
• Manage a sizable direct and indirect spend portfolio, identifying cost‑saving and value‑creation opportunities.
• Partner with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to align sourcing initiatives with business objectives.
• Lead category management, supplier rationalisation, and performance‑management programs.
• Establish governance frameworks, reporting structures, and knowledge‑management practices to improve visibility and decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and motivate procurement teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading procurement or strategic sourcing functions within a large organization.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills and ability to influence senior leadership.
• Track record of delivering cost reductions, efficiency improvements, and supplier‑performance enhancements.
• Experience in building high‑performing procurement teams.
