Private Equity Analytics Co-op Internship (Fall 2026)

About the role

The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking a motivated co‑op/intern to join its Private Equity Analytics team for the Fall 2026 term (September‑December). You will work within the Reporting & Analytics group, supporting investment decision‑making and portfolio monitoring for a $30+ billion global private‑equity portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in producing timely analysis and reports that challenge and inform investment decisions.
• Help improve portfolio monitoring and analytics processes by leveraging technology, AI tools, and best practices.
• Test existing AI solutions on new business cases and identify opportunities to use the data stack more effectively.
• Analyze sources of return, key value drivers, and risk factors across portfolio companies and funds.
• Monitor performance against benchmarks, highlight out‑performance or under‑performance, and suggest actions to enhance returns.
• Provide real‑time insights on assets that may be suitable for sale or liquidity events.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program related to computer science, data analytics, finance, or a similar field.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Team‑player attitude and effective communication skills.
• Interest in private‑equity investing, sustainable growth, and innovative technology.
