Primary Care Physician

About the role

Calian is hiring Primary Care Physicians to join the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre Ottawa at Montfort Hospital. The role involves delivering comprehensive primary health care to Canadian Armed Forces members, including preventive, diagnostic and rehabilitative services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical fitness assessments for duty, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and periodic health evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses, and manage rehabilitation.
• Establish and update Medical Employment Limitations, approve sick leave and recommend medical category changes.
• Maintain occupational health records using the Electronic Health Record system.
• Provide primary medical care for acute and chronic conditions and coordinate referrals when needed.

Required profile

• Provincial medical licence in the province of practice.
• Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP) from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
• Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C certification.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Minimum one year of full‑time equivalent experience in ambulatory primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care or emergency medicine.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• CPR/AED Level C.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
