Postdoctoral Researcher – Human Genetics, Proteomics & Multi‑Omics

About the role

The Yoshiji Lab at McGill University seeks a fully funded Postdoctoral Fellow to lead projects at the intersection of human genetics, proteomics, and multi‑omics for drug target discovery and precision medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute independent research using Mendelian randomization, GWAS, fine‑mapping, colocalization, polygenic scoring, and multi‑trait/multi‑ancestry methods on biobank‑scale datasets.
• Analyze plasma and tissue proteomics data (e.g., Olink, SomaScan) integrated with genotype, phenotype, and electronic health record data from UK Biobank, All of Us, CLSA, and the McGill BioPortal.
• Develop and maintain reproducible pipelines in R, Python, and shell on HPC/Slurm clusters and cloud environments (DNAnexus, Terra, AWS/GCP).
• Write first‑author manuscripts, present at international conferences, and contribute to grant applications.
• Collaborate with internal team members and external consortia, mentor trainees, and support shared infrastructure.

Required profile

• Postdoctoral‑level researcher with expertise in human genetics and proteomics.

Required skills

• Mendelian randomization, GWAS, fine‑mapping, colocalization, polygenic scoring, multi‑trait/multi‑ancestry analysis.
• Proteomics data handling (Olink, SomaScan).
• Programming in R, Python, and shell scripting.
• Experience with HPC/Slurm clusters and cloud platforms (DNAnexus, Terra, AWS, GCP).
