Inventory Specialist

About the role

Clearpoint Health Network is seeking an Inventory Specialist to manage medical supplies, implants and equipment for its Calgary location. The role ensures all inventory processes comply with policies, contracts and aseptic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the inventory management system, tracking orders, receipts and usage.
• Purchase specialized medical supplies within authorized limits and ensure contract compliance.
• Audit and replenish supply carts, monitor shelf life, and enforce first‑in‑first‑out practices.
• Coordinate inventory counts, audits and return of damaged or recalled items.
• Review and process invoices, close purchase orders and support fiscal period close‑out.
• Collaborate with nurse managers, supplier representatives and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in supply chain management or related field.
• 3‑5 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience in healthcare or medical device environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with computerized inventory control systems.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehousing and material handling processes.
