Postdoctoral Fellow in Chinese Philosophy

About the role

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a one‑year postdoctoral fellowship focused on Chinese Philosophy, commencing 1 September 2026. The fellow will pursue an independent research agenda while delivering two semester‑long courses.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research in Chinese philosophical traditions.
• Teach two semester‑long undergraduate or graduate courses in Chinese Philosophy.
• Engage in departmental seminars, workshops, and collaborative projects.
• Prepare scholarly publications and present findings at conferences.

Required profile

• PhD (or completion of all requirements) in Philosophy, Asian Studies, or a closely related discipline by the start date.
• Demonstrated expertise in Chinese philosophy.
• Strong academic writing and teaching abilities.

Required skills

• Research methodology in the humanities.
• Curriculum development and classroom instruction.
