Plant Purchasing Clerk

About the role

The Plant Purchasing Clerk (Plant Buyer) is responsible for executing purchases of operating supplies and maintenance parts for the bottling plant. The role ensures inventory accuracy, supports cost‑reduction initiatives, and contributes to key performance measures.

Key responsibilities

• Track maintenance spare‑part and operational‑supply inventories, maintaining accuracy in the SAP database.
• Organise stock rooms logically, updating inventories as parts arrive and are consumed.
• Analyse inventory targets regularly to optimise stock levels based on availability, cost, usage history and lead times.
• Use SAP and the plant check‑book to monitor spending, establish month‑end accruals, and report on KPMs such as spare‑part inventory levels and purchasing activity.
• Design user‑friendly stock‑room layouts for high‑volume inventory.
• Coordinate purchases with maintenance and production managers and communicate with hourly maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Strong organisational ability to manage large inventories and stock‑room layouts.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with maintenance teams and management.
• Analytical mindset to evaluate inventory targets and cost‑saving opportunities.
