Pipe Trades Instructor (Temporary Full‑Time)

About the role
The School of Construction is hiring temporary full‑time instructors to teach pipe‑trades theory and hands‑on laboratory skills to apprenticeship and pre‑employment students. You will help shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople in a dynamic, industry‑linked learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver classroom and lab sessions using existing curriculum and D2L tools.
- Evaluate student progress, record marks, and provide feedback.
- Participate in team meetings, program planning, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Maintain safety standards and comply with relevant legislation.
- Develop and sustain relationships with academic colleagues and industry partners.
Required profile
- Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal in Plumbing, Steamfitting or Gasfitting.
- Minimum five years of journeyperson experience in installation or service environments (desired).
- Prior adult‑education or training experience is an asset.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
