Physician – Occupational Health (Casual, Thompson, MB)

About the role

Join TELUS as a casual, in‑clinic physician providing occupational health services to workers in Thompson, Manitoba. You will work within a collaborative team to deliver high‑quality medical assessments, injury management, and preventive health counseling.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑employment, periodic, and fitness‑for‑work medical examinations.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage work‑related and non‑work‑related injuries and illnesses.
• Document patient encounters accurately and report workplace injuries according to internal and provincial regulations.
• Review and act on medical surveillance program outcomes for employees exposed to occupational hazards.
• Provide health counseling, lifestyle guidance, and injury‑prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with client management and TELUS teams to improve health outcomes and best practices.

Required profile

• Current registration (or eligibility) as a Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
• Strong physical assessment and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and client experience.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
