Pharmacy Technician – Moncton

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician will work in a hospital pharmacy setting, interacting directly with patients to collect medication histories, provide counseling, and ensure safe medication preparation and distribution. The role also includes supervising pharmacy students and handling sterile compounding.

Key responsibilities

• Check medication prepared by other technicians, assistants, and delegated checkers for accuracy.
• Meet with patients to gather medication information and create comprehensive medication histories.
• Assist pharmacists in implementing and monitoring patient medication care plans.
• Provide patients with instructions on medication devices and tools.
• Precept pharmacy technician students and orient pharmacy students.
• Prepare, label, and dispense sterile products such as total parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy agents, and intravenous mixtures.
• Prepare, label, and distribute pharmaceutical products.
• Order, receive, and maintain pharmaceutical inventories.

Required profile

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists.
• Licensed to practice in New Brunswick.
• Ability to attend work regularly and perform all duties of the position.
• Good work record.

Required skills

• Sterile compounding techniques.
