Pharmacy Officer (Military)

About the role

Pharmacy Officers in the Canadian Armed Forces provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to service members. They advise on drug therapy for emergency medicine, intensive‑care, pain management, infectious diseases and medical counter‑measures for nuclear, biological and chemical threats, while also overseeing medical supplies and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services and consult with patients, physicians and health‑care teams.
• Identify and resolve complex drug‑related problems across a range of therapeutic areas.
• Teach and mentor pharmacy students and interns.
• Serve on advisory and professional committees.
• Manage medical materiel procurement, supply‑chain logistics and cold‑chain medication transport.
• Perform contracting functions for medical supplies and coordinate distribution to domestic and overseas bases.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from a recognized Canadian university.
• Successful completion of the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada qualifying exam.
• Current licence to practice pharmacy in a Canadian province or territory with a letter of good standing.
• Willingness to relocate or serve in a reserve unit as required.
