Pharmacy Assistant

About the role

Join a locally owned pharmacy to deliver health, beauty and convenience services to your community. As a Pharmacy Assistant you will support the pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions, handling customer inquiries and maintaining the smooth operation of the store.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, collect prescription information and manage cash register transactions.
• Receive new and repeat prescription orders, prepare them for the pharmacist and handle third‑party billing.
• Assist in prescription preparation, counting, measuring, packaging and labeling according to pharmacy standards.
• Answer phone calls, manage incoming faxes and refer clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain accurate records in pharmacy systems and ensure confidentiality of patient information.

Required profile

• High school diploma; pharmacy assistant coursework preferred.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail environment is an asset.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective problem‑solving skills and ability to multitask.
