Pharmacist – Inpatient Hematology

About the role

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join its Inpatient Hematology unit. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective medication management for patients across all shifts, including nights and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive drug therapy review and counseling for hematology patients.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor pharmacy staff and students.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize medication regimens.
• Maintain accurate medication records and contribute to clinical documentation.
• Participate in teaching activities and continuous education programs.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.
• Unrestricted Part A license registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Working knowledge of modern hospital care and drug therapy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.

• Proficiency with word processing applications.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet applications.
• Experience using database applications.
