Pharmacist I – Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Pharmacist I to join the interdisciplinary team at Taber Health Centre. In this hospital‑based position you will contribute to safe, effective medication use and support optimal therapeutic outcomes for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, verify and dispense medications in accordance with pharmacy standards.
• Conduct medication therapy management, assess patients for drug‑related issues and develop comprehensive care plans.
• Participate in patient care rounds and collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health professionals.
• Review and verify medication orders, including checking patient medication histories.
• Oversee compounding and packaging activities.
• Mentor new staff, precept pharmacy students and provide guidance to Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (or PharmD) and current registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
• Experience with computerized medication order entry and drug information systems.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work effectively within diverse teams.
• Strong critical‑thinking, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional accountability and effective English communication.
