Permanent Part-Time Parks and Recreation Employee

About the role

The Town is seeking a reliable Permanent Part‑Time Parks and Recreation Employee to support the upkeep of municipal facilities, including arenas, parks and public buildings. Working under the supervision of the Parks and Facilities Supervisors, you will ensure clean, safe and well‑maintained environments for community events and everyday use.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties such as cleaning, minor repairs, construction, and painting.
• Set up and tear down rentals and town‑run events, handling equipment delivery, waste collection and washroom servicing.
• Inspect municipal properties regularly and carry out tasks outlined in daily/weekly maintenance programs.
• Maintain arena ice surface, monitor compressor room readings, and support ice rentals.
• Conduct snow removal and de‑icing of sidewalks on municipal grounds.
• Interact courteously with park and facility users, representing the Town professionally.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• General knowledge of building trades and maintenance.
• High school diploma.
• Ability to lift 50 + pounds.
• Class G driver’s licence.
• Certifications considered assets: WHMIS, working at heights, propane handling, CPR/First Aid and AED, basic refrigeration, elevated work platform.
