People Operations Specialist

About the role

GoMaterials is seeking a People Operations Specialist to serve as the operational backbone of its People team. You will support daily HR activities, manage the internship program, coordinate recruitment, and oversee office operations while partnering with the Manager of People Operations to continuously improve processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the internship program across three annual hiring cohorts, from university partnerships to onboarding and program management.
• Lead full‑cycle recruitment for interns and junior Operations and Sales roles, handling interviews, offers, and logistics.
• Maintain hiring pipelines in Lever and keep hiring managers on track.
• Manage onboarding, offboarding, employment documentation, and employee lifecycle changes using Rippling.
• Build and improve HR documentation, processes, and automations, leveraging AI tools.
• Answer day‑to‑day employee questions while ensuring confidentiality.
• Prepare and submit government grant applications.
• Coordinate office operations, employee recognition initiatives, and team events.
• Partner with IT to equip new hires for a successful first day.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or Talent Acquisition.
• Hands‑on experience with an HRIS and an Applicant Tracking System (Rippling and Lever are strong assets).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a passion for building efficient, scalable processes.
• Proven ability to own projects or programs from start to finish.
• Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
