Patrol Officer II – Campus Security

About the role

The Campus Security Patrol Officer II ensures the safety and protection of people and property across the UBC Point Grey campus. This position provides visible security patrols and serves as the primary mobile responder for first‑aid incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol campus grounds and buildings to maintain a safe environment.
• Respond promptly to all First Aid calls, assess injuries, provide treatment, and give recommendations within the scope of Occupational First Aid Level 2.
• Observe, report, and help prevent security incidents.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote a welcoming and secure campus.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and first‑aid interventions.

Required profile

• Member of CUPE 116 and eligible for salaried employment.
• Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 2 certification.
• Commitment to community safety and inclusive workplace values.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Occupational First Aid Level 2.
• Basic knowledge of threat assessment and mental‑health first aid.
• Effective observation and reporting skills.
