Part‑Time Microbiology Lab Technician

About the role

Certified Group is seeking a part‑time Microbiology Lab Technician to support its Food Safety Net Services laboratory in Turlock. You will prepare and analyse food, ingredient and environmental samples using approved microbiological methods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens and chemical analyses.
• Apply aseptic techniques throughout daily work.
• Maintain media, reagents and expendable supplies for microbiological testing.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, sanitising and waste disposal.
• Monitor quality control by recording incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms and running media controls.
• Document procedures and results in accordance with FSNS policies and customer requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently while following standard operating procedures.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety, hygiene and accurate record‑keeping.
• Effective communication and teamwork within the Food Safety Net Services team.

Required skills

• Sample preparation for microbiological testing.
