Part-time Sessional Lecturer (25%) – Forest Resources Management

About the role

The Department of Forest Resources Management at the University of British Columbia is hiring a part‑time (25%) sessional lecturer for the 2026 W‑Term (September‑December). The appointment will involve teaching the three‑credit course FRST_V 305 – Silviculture.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver core lectures on silviculture concepts and principles.
• Coordinate guest lecturers and manage their contributions.
• Organise and run laboratory sections for hands‑on learning.
• Prepare, administer and grade tests and mid‑term examinations.
• Hold weekly office hours to support students.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in silviculture, stand dynamics, and regeneration techniques.
• Ability to develop and communicate forest management prescriptions.
• Academic credentials appropriate for university teaching.
• Submission of a CV and two professional references.
• Canadian citizens or permanent residents receive priority consideration.
