About the role
The Music Department at Mount Allison University seeks a part‑time lecturer to provide studio instruction in bassoon. This stipendiary appointment supports one‑on‑one teaching across the Fall and Winter semesters, offering students personalized guidance in performance and repertoire.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver weekly studio lessons (approximately one hour per student) for up to one bassoon student.
- Conduct studio class sessions and oversee student performance preparation.
- Assess student work in performance juries and provide constructive feedback.
- Coordinate with department faculty to align instruction with curriculum goals.
Required profile
- Graduate degree in brass performance or a closely related field.
- Established record as a professional bassoon performer.
- Experience teaching studio courses at the university level.
