Parking Traffic Controller – Downtown Ottawa

About the role

The Parking Traffic Controller works in downtown Ottawa providing friendly customer service while directing traffic and managing the flow of vehicles in the parking facility. The role is outdoors, requires interaction with customers, and involves operating and maintaining parking equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with payment and the overall in/out parking process.
• Handle irate customers, resolve issues within policy, and prioritize service.
• Perform lot counts, adjust counters, and report equipment or safety concerns.
• Coordinate with property security and the site manager on garage‑related matters.
• Maintain and operate Impark or property equipment, ensuring the site stays clean and obstacle‑free.
• Make recommendations for job performance and consult supervisors on operational matters.

Required profile

• Organized with strong English communication; French is an asset.
• Customer‑service experience and ability to work independently.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic knowledge of desk/handheld POS parking equipment.

Required skills

• POS parking equipment operation.
• Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
