Organisational Design Consultant

About the role

Miratech, a global IT services and consulting company, is hiring an Organisational Design Consultant in Calgary for a part-time engagement lasting about two to three months. The consultant defines who, within the client organisation, will own, write, review, approve and maintain content after the consultants leave, and designs the organisational change needed to support a Genesys AI feature. The role begins once the current-state content and requirements picture is sufficiently developed.

Key responsibilities

• Document the current organisation: map units, roles, reporting lines and capacity involved in knowledge creation and maintenance across tax, individual enquiries and business enquiries, and identify who does content work and how much time it takes.
• Analyse the gap between the current organisation and the target knowledge management operating model, identifying capability gaps, capacity shortfalls, unclear ownership and informal absorption of content work.
• Build the Organisational RACI Matrix, defining who is Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed for each stage of the content lifecycle, and specifying which positions need to be created, reassigned or amended.
• Define the target operating model (central knowledge team, federated model or hybrid) with rationale, trade-offs and resourcing implications.
• Produce role profiles and resourcing requirements, including AI-era roles such as knowledge manager, taxonomy steward, content owner and content author, with competencies, effort estimates and classification guidance.
• Design the transition and change approach, including change management, training, communication and risks, including staffing constraints in a federal environment.
• Align with the governance workstream so the Governance Playbook and the RACI Matrix describe the same organisation.

Required profile

• 8+ years in organisational design, operating model design, workforce planning or organisational effectiveness consulting.
• Demonstrated experience delivering a complete organisational design set (RACI matrices, target operating models, role profiles, transition plans) that a client implemented.
• Experience designing operating models for functions spanning multiple business units with shared or contested ownership.
• Strong stakeholder engagement at director and executive level.
• Ability to work part-time in a concentrated engagement alongside a wider consulting team.
• Eligible to obtain and hold a Government of Canada security clearance.
• Nice to have: prior knowledge management or contact centre operating model experience, formal change management credential (e.g. Prosci, CCMP), bilingual English/French.
