Operations Tax Specialist

About the role

The Operations Tax Specialist will join Fidelity Clearing Canada’s Operations Tax team, supporting tax reporting and compliance for Canadian and U.S. clients. The position is hybrid, based at 483 Bay Street, Toronto, with a future move to Mississauga in late 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and ensure accurate completion of all Canadian and U.S. tax reporting, including T‑forms (T5, T3, T5013, T5008, NR4, T4RSP, T4RIF) and U.S. forms (1099‑INT, 1099‑DIV, 1099‑B, 1042‑S, 1042, 945).
• Oversee year‑end client processes, FATCA/CRS reporting, and Qualified Intermediary (QI) obligations.
• Maintain documentation, support audits, and ensure regulatory deadlines are met.
• Identify financial and regulatory risks, reconcile internal and external tax accounts.
• Provide high‑quality customer service to internal stakeholders and external clients, and act as backup for related areas.

Required profile

• Current Canadian work authorization.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. tax reporting requirements.
• Experience with compliance, regulatory environments, and audit processes.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
