Operations Supervisor – Transit & School Bus Services

About the role

Transdev is seeking an Operations Supervisor for its Yellowknife location to lead safe, reliable and efficient transit and school‑bus services. This hands‑on leadership position involves daily decision‑making that directly impacts service delivery, the team and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and support daily transportation operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Supervise drivers and support staff during assigned shifts, providing on‑the‑ground guidance.
• Assist with dispatch, scheduling and real‑time operational adjustments to keep routes on time.
• Promote and enforce safety procedures and company policies.
• Handle incident reporting, investigations and follow‑ups.
• Monitor service performance, identify improvement areas and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, external partners and the General Manager.
• Support onboarding, training, team meetings, safety briefings and operational updates.
• Prepare and maintain reports, logs and operational records, and manage workforce coverage.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising drivers and support staff in a transportation environment.
• Strong decision‑making ability and capacity to respond to real‑time operational challenges.
• Commitment to safety, reliability and high service standards.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with teams, management and external partners.
