Operations Manager – Floatel Operations

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead day‑to‑day activities on accommodation and support vessels operating from Squamish, BC. This rotational, three‑year position ensures seamless service delivery for clients while maintaining strict health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of floatel vessels, ensuring guest services, housekeeping and catering meet contractual standards.
• Provide coaching, leadership and guidance to department heads and managers.
• Act as primary liaison with clients, ship owners, shoreside teams and subcontractors.
• Forecast operational requirements, assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
• Conduct monthly budget analysis, report variances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure contract management processes are followed and labour is aligned with client‑planned manning curves.
• Prepare routine reports for corporate and client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with vessel owners’ deck and engine crews.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold HSE compliance.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews and safety leadership.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years experience in hospitality operations (guest services, room management, food & beverage).
• 3‑5 years experience leading projects or teams, preferably in a maritime or floatel environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and HSE regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
