Operating Room Nurse – Orthopedic Surgery (Laval)

About the role

Lacroix Private Medicine is expanding its Laval operating room and seeks an experienced Operating Room Nurse to support orthopedic procedures such as total hip and knee replacements, as well as a variety of other surgeries. The position offers a stable daytime schedule that promotes work‑life balance within a modern, collaborative surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating theatre for orthopedic, gynecological, ENT, urological, general, bariatric, and neurosurgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons by ensuring sterile technique, instrument handling, and patient safety throughout each case.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth workflow and adherence to protocols.
• Document surgical activities accurately and manage postoperative handovers.

Required profile

• Completed nursing training (DEC or Bachelor of Science in Nursing) with a valid OIIQ license.
• Minimum three years of operating‑room experience, specifically in total hip replacement (THR) and total knee replacement (TKR).
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Fluent French and functional English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient‑centered care.

Required skills

• AIISOC, CSA and PCI standards knowledge.
• Expertise in aseptic protocols.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and surgical techniques.
• CPR certification.
• ACLS certification.
