O&M Wind Turbine Technician

About the role

Spark Power is seeking an O&M Wind Turbine Technician to join its team at the Gesner Wind Farm in Muirkirk, Ontario. The role involves on‑site maintenance and troubleshooting of Gamesa G97 or Vestas V90 turbines, ensuring reliable operation of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑call support during weekends and respond to emergency calls.
• Climb turbines up to 130 m to conduct diagnostics, installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Execute scheduled maintenance tasks such as inspection, greasing, cleaning, torquing and tensioning of bolted connections.
• Complete reports, checklists, hazard analyses and maintain accurate documentation.
• Apply lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) procedures and conduct electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting.
• Maintain parts and consumables inventory and track usage.
• Participate in HSE training programs and adhere to all safety policies.

Required profile

• Reside within a one‑hour commute to Muirkirk, Ontario.
• Minimum 2 years experience with Gamesa G97 or 3 years with Vestas V90 turbines.
• Strong organizational abilities and high computer literacy, especially with Microsoft 365.
• Current certifications for fall protection, rescue training, LOTO, and First Aid/CPR/AED.
